This week’s class was really informative, and I learned a lot of useful information that I was not previously aware of! I found it beneficial to learn about copyright rules and gain some general knowledge about this topic. As an aspiring teacher, it is so important to be aware of these rules when finding classroom resources on the internet. I was definitely not familiar with most of the copyright topics we discussed today, which further solidifies the importance of learning them!
Something I found interesting from this week’s class was the Content Creator Activity we completed in breakout rooms. My group explored the public domain, and since I was not previously aware of this, it was intriguing to learn about! The public domain is an alternative to copyright where after 75 years, people can use certain resources without breaking copyright laws. This is helpful information to know as a teacher because it is a resource I can attend to when I need resources while planning lessons!
Overall, this week’s class was very informative, and I am excited to incorporate my learnings into my future teaching practice. I look forward to learning more in the coming weeks!
