During this week’s tech class, we learned about technology integration models, which was really interesting! We talked about the SAMR model, which stands for substitution, augmentation, modification, and redefinition. This model provides a way in which technology can be used for teaching and learning purposes. I really like the graphic that goes along with the SAMR model. Check it out – it’s the cover image for this post! (Credit to Sylvia Duckworth for the image https://sylviaduckworth.com/).
We also explored coding during this week’s class. I have heard about coding before, but I have not experimented with it, so I was excited to see what it was! My sister has done coding workshops in school before, and she really enjoyed the process. After exploring it myself, I think that it would be a fun thing to integrate in the classroom! Initially learning the coding techniques was definitely a learning curve, but it was still really enjoyable, and it was fun to experiment!
