Welcome to my art sketchbook for EDCI 307A! In this sketchbook, I’ve included information about the elements of design, principles of design, and the image development strategies. Each post generally has the following format (with some exceptions):

  • KQED Video (for the elements of design)
  • My Artwork: an image of my work and instructions for the activity
  • Critical Analysis: the name of the artist and a piece of work that can be used to talk about the element/ principle/ image development strategy
  • Some Extra Resources: these may include unit plans, art activities I found online, or some videos. When I mention extra resources, I’ve included a link to that resource (the links are in green font), along with a brief summary.

The sketchbook has 4 sections:

I hope you enjoy my digital sketchbook! It has an abundance of useful information that I look forward to bringing into my future art classroom!

P.S. Most of the information in this sketchbook is from EDCI 307A course slides (credit to Dr. Kathleen Schmalz). If I got my information from another source, or I took information directly from our class Powerpoints, I gave credit/ stated where I got it from.
